                   POLITICAL SCIENCE 185 (1 UNIT)—TIME TO BE ARRANGED:  DIRECTED STUDY

 

Note:  a student enrolled in either the honors section or a directed study class with Dr. Loiterman is expected

to complete 18 hours of political science study (that’s more than an hour per week) in addition to the hours required by any other political science course the student is enrolled in.

 

Welcome you to the world of politics, government and political science.  This assignment gives you the opportunity to practice some of the skills that make democracy work—gathering information, discussion,and working with others.

 

 

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME:  to complete the honors section or a directed student class, the student will present a project that demonstrates the ability

 

to use a variety of types of sources and to critically evaluate them to analyze an election* taking  place during the semester, preferably on Tuesday, March 6, and

 

to predict its results.
